Dryer Not Heating?
We Fix Cold Dryers
When your dryer tumbles but doesn't heat, clothes stay wet no matter how long they run. We diagnose and repair heating problems in gas and electric dryers.
Electric Dryer Heating Problems
- Heating Element - The most common cause; element burns out over time
- Thermal Fuse - Safety device that blows when dryer overheats
- Thermostat - Cycling thermostat or high-limit thermostat failure
- Timer/Control Board - Electronic controls not advancing to heat
Gas Dryer Heating Problems
- Igniter - Glows but doesn't ignite the gas
- Gas Valve Coils - Solenoids that control gas flow
- Flame Sensor - Detects whether flame is present
- Thermal Fuse - Same as electric - blows from overheating
Important Safety Note
Many heating failures are caused by restricted airflow from clogged vents. A clogged dryer vent is a fire hazard. We can inspect and recommend vent cleaning if needed.
